The short version
- We don't sell your messages. We don't train AI models on what you write.
- Your rewrites are stored against your account so you can find them in History. Free tier keeps them for seven days. Pro keeps them indefinitely. You can delete them at any time.
- Voice audio is transcribed and immediately discarded. Only the text is kept.
- We share device and account identifiers with Meta and TikTok for ad attribution. You can opt out via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
What we collect
Account information
Your email address and name, both via Apple Sign In. If you use Apple's Hide My Email alias, we receive the alias and never see your actual email. We need this to identify your account across devices and to send transactional messages like receipts.
Your messages and rewrites
When you paste or dictate a message for rewriting, that text is sent to our servers, processed by a third-party language model (currently OpenAI or Google Gemini), and stored against your account along with the rewrite results and explanations. Voice audio is transcribed and discarded immediately; we keep the transcript, not the recording. The model providers do not retain your content beyond the processing window required to return a result, and our contracts with them prohibit training on your inputs.
Subscription state
Your purchase history (Free, Pro Weekly, Pro Annual, trial status) is managed by Apple and synced to our backend through RevenueCat. We do not see your card details or any other payment information. We see only the subscription state itself.
Device and usage data
We collect anonymous device identifiers (iOS version, device model, app version), aggregate usage events (which features you use and how often), crash reports, and performance traces. This is used to fix bugs, plan features, and measure stability. We use PostHog for product analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting.
Advertising identifiers
For ad-attribution purposes we share certain identifiers (Firebase user ID, IDFA when authorized, IDFV, Facebook anonymous ID) with Meta and TikTok. This lets us measure which ad campaigns lead to installs and subscriptions. You control IDFA sharing through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, which appears on first launch. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, IDFA is not shared.
Push tokens and onboarding answers
If you allow notifications, we store your push token to deliver reminders and updates. If you answer onboarding questions, those answers are stored against your account to personalize the experience.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
- We don't use your messages to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's.
- We don't keep your voice recordings after transcription.
- We don't read your messages outside of the automated rewrite pipeline. Engineers can only see your content as part of a specific support request you initiate.
Data retention
Rewrites are kept for seven days on the free tier and indefinitely on Pro until you delete them or cancel your account. Crash and analytics data is retained per the relevant provider's default policy (typically up to 14 months). Account and subscription data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account closure, subject to legal hold for tax and dispute purposes.
Your rights
You can view your stored rewrites in the app under History. You can delete individual rewrites or your entire account at any time by emailing support@morcolabs.com. Deletion is permanent.
If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA, including the right to a copy of your data and the right to object to processing. Email us to exercise any of these rights.
Children
Resay is not intended for users under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.
International transfers
Resay's backend runs on Cloudflare's global network. Your data may be stored or processed in any country where Cloudflare operates. For users in the EU, we rely on the standard contractual clauses for cross-border transfers.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll notify you in the app and update the date at the top. Continued use of Resay after a change means you accept the updated policy.
